Hey y'all!! It's a rainy day here in Nash-vegas. I didn't fall asleep until 6:30am. That would be all fine and good if I didn't have to work @ 9am. And with the weekend I had, I should have passed out after the Red Sox won last night. Oh well. It was a great weekend regardless. Friday I wrote and recorded a new tune called "Etchings" which I'm really happy with. It's still very much in demo form but I think it will be the tune that finalizes my new record called Exit Sounds. More on that whole thing soon.
Saturday night I played for and with Mike Farley at his album release party in Hermitage. It was awesome!! Thanks again Mike and Wayne for inviting me out to play.
Sunday brought a marathon rehearsal with The New Whole Usuals. It's hard to believe that the show is happening on Saturday the 27th @ The Basement. It's going to be wild. We dropped off records at Grimey's on Saturday so be sure to grab your copy tomorrow exclusively at Grimey's. If you pick up Ween's new record, you'll get $1 off of The New Whole Usuals record. Both will provide a lifetime of musical wonderment.

Let's attempt this again....
Hi everybody. The great fourth transformation has begun. Actually, I'm sitting next to the transformation right now while it's being attempted. Bean is in the process of building me a new site. While I liked to convenience of my little weebly site, it simply didn't give me all of the elements I needed. It felt more like a blog (clearly, blogging isn't a bad thing) but it was time for a more profound site. Something that represents the noises that I make. It will hopefully be completed this evening and if so, it will be a world record for both site design and execution.
It's been an incredible day. I got to hear The New Whole Usuals receive their first bit of airplay on UK-based Error FM. They spun "No Name Sally" as the opening song on their show The Waiting Room. It was a pivotal moment indeed.
Also, earlier in the day I got an email from Mike Farley indicating that his song "All It Is" got spun this morning on Sirius Satellite Radio's The Coffeehouse. This tune is on Mike's new record entitled Moments and Memories. Said record was produced and engineered by yours truly at the Me and the Machine Studios. I'm super proud of this record. Hell, I'm proud of every record I've had the privilege of working on this year. And if 2008 is anything like 2007, then I'll probably go deaf and blind. Not sure what that means but let's run with it.

Welcome to my new(er) site!!
Ok, this has been and will continue to be a work in progress. I'm really excited about this company called Weebly. I read about them in Newsweek and I fell in love instantly. I can now edit my entire website via the web instead of being tied to a computer with web building software. These guys are brilliant. Expect a lot more from me now that I'm mobile!! Chat w/ you all again very soon and if you're in New Mexico this weekend, stop by my show!!!

Bad (good) Myspace.
Myspace has stolen all of the attention away from this site. It's not a bad thing I guess, it's just tough to get over here when myspace is so easy to get to. If you're as captivated by this social phenomenon as I am, don't forget to be my friend by going to myspace.com/joshprestonmusic. If you haven't been over there for a while, let me bring you up to speed...
The label (Me and the Machine Records) is kicking into high gear. We've nearly finished new records with Brad Sweitzer and Nick Shelton and I couldn't be prouder of each release. I can't wait to share them with you. I've got a new release that is currently exclusively available at the Me and the Machine Shop. Check it out!!! The next one is on the way...
I've got a bunch of shows coming up. Be sure to check out the tour section on this site. Most notably, I'll be playing the Hyperactive Festival in Albuquerque, NM in May, I will let you know the date as we get closer.
Ok, that's all I can think of at this moment. Keep checking back and I'll do the same...haha. See-ya soon.

New website and happenings!
So since I haven't updated my news since November of last year, I figured what the hell, we'll just update my entire site!!! So here it is folks, the newly redesigned joshpreston.com. Please click around and enjoy.
On the musical front, in December, we launched a new record label called Me and the Machine Records. I'm incredibly proud of this label and the artists that are represented on it. There are two new albums by Nick Shelton and Brad Sweitzer that were released on 2.6.07. Please take the time to check them out on the digital distribution site of your choice (iTunes, Napster, eMusic, Zune, etc.). Video from the release party will be up shortly so check back.
My next record entitled "Rooftop Silhouettes" will be available on May 1st. More news on that when we get a bit closer to the release date.
I'll be playing again on 2.22.07 w/ the Rat Pack Writers @ the Blue Bar in Nashville. Pop by if you're in the area.
Ok, more soon and as always, if I haven't sent you a friend request on myspace, please send me one if you're so inclined. Take care and I'll see you again soon.

Rooftop Silhouettes and other updates
Hey everybody and Happy Thanksgiving!!! After you’ve finished stuffing yourselves, click over to the Audio section and check out a few of the new tracks from my forthcoming album Rooftop Silhouettes. I’ll post another song or two in the coming days so check back. As for my last record, Between Memory and Mortality, it is now available on eMusic and the brand new Zune store. I spent a Sunday a few weeks back making an animation video out of Photoshop pictures and set in to an electronic track I created in Reason. It’s called Sunday Sketch and you can see it in my Videos section. If you haven’t yet, don’t forget to add me as a friend at myspace.com/joshprestonmusic. See-ya soon.

New Live Videos
Hey everybody. I have been recording a bunch of my more recent shows and I have hacked them up and posted a few new videos in the Videos section of this site. These new clips include some of the material that will be on the next record. I removed the older clips but they can still be found on youtube. I am about one and a half songs away from finishing the new record. It should be available in a few months. In the meantime, check out the Audio section to purchase Between Memory and Mortality from your favorite download store. There are more shows and music and things on the way. See-ya soon.
