Rooftop Silhouettes and other updates

Hey everybody and Happy Thanksgiving!!! After you’ve finished stuffing yourselves, click over to the Audio section and check out a few of the new tracks from my forthcoming album Rooftop Silhouettes. I’ll post another song or two in the coming days so check back. As for my last record, Between Memory and Mortality, it is now available on eMusic and the brand new Zune store. I spent a Sunday a few weeks back making an animation video out of Photoshop pictures and set in to an electronic track I created in Reason. It’s called Sunday Sketch and you can see it in my Videos section. If you haven’t yet, don’t forget to add me as a friend at myspace.com/joshprestonmusic. See-ya soon.

Shows and Records

Hey Everybody!! I hope each of you are well. Just a quick note to say hello and let you know about some upcoming shows. I'll be playing this Thursday night at Springwater in Nashville. I should be on anywhere between the hours of 9pm and 2am the next day. It should be closer to 9 or 10. I'll also be at the Plowhaus Gallery in East Nashville performing for their My Space opening on 8.19.06. Lisa will be showing a few of her pieces there. It's going to be great. Nick Shelton and Brad Sweitzer will be performing as well. You've got to see these guys if you haven't already. More shows can be found on the Tour page.

Also, the final track-listing has been completed and you can now hear the album in all of it's final glory on the Audio page. And within the next few weeks, it will be available on iTunes Worldwide, Napster, Rhapsody, Sony Connect, eMusic and MusicNet. I will definitely be sending out an e-mail as soon as I learn that it is up on the aforementioned digital distribution outlets.

Last but certainly not least, I've begun recording a new album entitled Rooftop Silhouettes and I'm hoping to complete it by the end of September. Yeah, I know. No album for 6 years and then 2 in as many months!?!? You're as confused as I am. I'm just in a groove.
See-ya soon. Josh

Shows and stuff

Hey everybody. I just added a bunch of shows to the tour section so please swing over there and check them out. The next show will be at Springwater this Monday the 3rd at 9pm or so... As part of the new Videos section, the videos now upload instantly so you don't have to wait around. Also, I've added a video for the song "Stop" that we made back in 2003 after attending the anti-war march in NYC shortly before the war began. I'm sorry that it has been under wraps for all of these years but now feels like the right time to present it. Thanks and I look forward to seeing each of you very soon.

Springwater Update

Hey everybody. I want to take a second to thank all of the folks that came out to Springwater and hung in there with me until 12:15am. It's been a while since I could say "Good Morning" from the stage. The Mulch Brothers, Nick Shelton, American Vinyl and The Wait opened the show. Each set was incredible. I captured the show on video and I hope to get it up on my site within a week or two. Not much else on the news front this post. I'm in the middle of moving so time is tight. Keep checking back for new shows and the like. Later.

02.14.06

Happy Valentine’s Day everybody. Love and disappointment are in the air. It's a beautiful sunny day here in Nashville. I just wanted to take a second and remind folks that I'll be playing this Thursday night at Springwater with some fine, fine musician friends. In an update to the bill, The Mulch Brothers will be performing. They rock. Come and share the love. Or just bring whatever love you have left over after this heart-filled holiday.

This show will be taped as well and if all goes accordingly, my performance will be posted on this site in the coming days. New links and things coming soon. Hopefully some new music as well.

Until whenever.

02.06.06

Hey Everybody. There is a ton of new stuff to get to so I will dive right in.... Thanks to everyone that came out to Springwater on 1.18.06. For those of you that did not make it out, not to worry because every song performed that night has its OWN VIDEO!!!! Please check out the video section of my site to see these performances. They are pretty large files and I recommend that you only try to view them if you have got a high speed connection. Even w/ a fast connection they take a minute or two to load so please be patient. It was a really great show, I had a great time playing and I hope you enjoy it too. Here is the set list from that show:
UNION STREET
SIMPLER
TELL HER THIS (J. Currie)
SEE THEM FALL
CANNONBALL (D. Rice)
BLINDED (M. Barry)
WE ARE ALONE
MELODY
CAROLINA (B. Gibbard)

Speaking of Springwater, I will be performing there again with Nick Shelton and The Mulch Brothers on 2.16.06. If you are in town, please stop by. Speaking of Nick Shelton, I have spent the past few weekends w/ Nick and engineer/producer Daniel Scobby in Murfreesboro doing some guitar work on Nicks forthcoming album. I will definitely be providing updates about that release so please check back.

In the last bit of news, my myspace account name has changed so please update links and whatnot. It is now: www.myspace.com/joshprestonmusic.

That is about it for now. Take care and I hope to see you all again very soon.
