Springwater Update
Hey everybody. I want to take a second to thank all of the folks that came out to Springwater and hung in there with me until 12:15am. It's been a while since I could say "Good Morning" from the stage. The Mulch Brothers, Nick Shelton, American Vinyl and The Wait opened the show. Each set was incredible. I captured the show on video and I hope to get it up on my site within a week or two. Not much else on the news front this post. I'm in the middle of moving so time is tight. Keep checking back for new shows and the like. Later.

Happy Valentine’s Day everybody. Love and disappointment are in the air. It's a beautiful sunny day here in Nashville. I just wanted to take a second and remind folks that I'll be playing this Thursday night at Springwater with some fine, fine musician friends. In an update to the bill, The Mulch Brothers will be performing. They rock. Come and share the love. Or just bring whatever love you have left over after this heart-filled holiday.
This show will be taped as well and if all goes accordingly, my performance will be posted on this site in the coming days. New links and things coming soon. Hopefully some new music as well.
Until whenever.

Hey Everybody. There is a ton of new stuff to get to so I will dive right in.... Thanks to everyone that came out to Springwater on 1.18.06. For those of you that did not make it out, not to worry because every song performed that night has its OWN VIDEO!!!! Please check out the video section of my site to see these performances. They are pretty large files and I recommend that you only try to view them if you have got a high speed connection. Even w/ a fast connection they take a minute or two to load so please be patient. It was a really great show, I had a great time playing and I hope you enjoy it too. Here is the set list from that show:
UNION STREET
SIMPLER
TELL HER THIS (J. Currie)
SEE THEM FALL
CANNONBALL (D. Rice)
BLINDED (M. Barry)
WE ARE ALONE
MELODY
CAROLINA (B. Gibbard)
Speaking of Springwater, I will be performing there again with Nick Shelton and The Mulch Brothers on 2.16.06. If you are in town, please stop by. Speaking of Nick Shelton, I have spent the past few weekends w/ Nick and engineer/producer Daniel Scobby in Murfreesboro doing some guitar work on Nicks forthcoming album. I will definitely be providing updates about that release so please check back.
In the last bit of news, my myspace account name has changed so please update links and whatnot. It is now: www.myspace.com/joshprestonmusic.
That is about it for now. Take care and I hope to see you all again very soon.

It has been forever. I think you will probably stand a better chance of seeing a comet than a post on my site. So today in a fit of boredom (and it being the first full full weekend I have had to myself since moving to Nashville), I tracked a new tune called Keep It On The Inside. It was all done in the apartment. In a few months, I hope to be doing this in our new house. I hope to be doing more of this in general. I hope you enjoy this tune and I will be posting new and improved versions of old tracks soon. Maybe a few new ones as well. Also, I uncovered a bunch of mp3s from my first show in Brooklyn @ Southpaw. They're in the music download section of this site.I think the exact date is in the show archive but I'm far too lazy to go look it up. Happy Birthday Jane. J

It's been far too long. For those of you that still check this site on occasion, I'd like to take the time now to fill you in on things that have been happening with me in the past few months. For starters, I'm no longer in New York. In the middle of October, my lovely wife and I relocated to Nashville. New York was wonderful and we had a truly amazing 5 years in the Big Apple and Nashville is shaping up to be equally amazing. After being cramped in a one bedroom place in Brooklyn, I now have a studio in which I can record at all hours of the night without the ambience of sirens and wall-unit air conditioners. New solo bits and Southern shows are in the works and I'm really excited about the direction things are traveling in.
A few months prior to the move, I was in Nashville with Aaron for a demo session of a tune that he and I wrote entitled One More Day. I'm hoping to share that with you soon.
It's all coming back together and it feels good. See you all soon.

Hey everybody. Sorry for the delay but it's finally here. "Annabelle" can be downloaded by clicking on the title at the beginning of this sentence. The directions that I just listed are very strange. I suspect y'all can figure it out and I hope you like it. More tunes on the way soon. The ideas are starting to kick in again. Maybe it's the summer air or the fact that I'm trying not to be so lazy these days.
I'll be playing this song and others on the 19th w/ OTG. Check the shows page for details. Also, the media5 blog is moving along in a rather surreal way so check that out when you get a chance as well.
I guess that's all for now. More music, shows, pictures, and whatnot to follow. Stay tuned.
